Living Lab for Trialing Solutions

The Living Lab consists of a Bushland Lab where new physical solutions can be safely, quickly and legitimately demonstrated and trialled in a designated zone with the support of partner authorities, and a Data Lab where solutions for prediction, detection, analysis, co-ordination & communication can be trialled & showcased.

  • Bushland Lab

    Sensor Zone

    A 400km2 coast-to-hinterland area of the Noosa Shire blanketed by the FireTech LoRaWAN® network. Lab members can use this network for testing, demonstrating and trialling their sensor and IOT technologies.

    Vision Zone

    A 250km2 area of the Noosa Shire covered by a high definition camera network. Lab members can access real-time camera feeds via API for testing, demonstrating and trialling detection, prediction and other vision-related services.

    Drone Zone

    A 10km2 area of the Noosa Shire, located away from residential and commercial use zones, where Lab members can safely test, trial and demonstrate drone-based solutions.

  • Big Data Lab

    Big Data Pod

    The Big Data Pod is a space for trialling and demonstrating data solutions. Equipped with modern command-centre type capabilities, realtime data can be visualised and interacted with, on cutting edge displays via dashboards, camera feeds and reports.

    CoLab Pod

    The Co-Lab Pod is a multi-functional space for collaboration and learning. This facility has retractable seating for 60 and can be configured for meetups, lectures, workshops, mini-conferences.

    Content Pod

    The Content Pod has facilities for video capture, live streaming and remote demonstrations. Lab partners and members will be able to use these facilities to produce high quality content about the solutions being trialled to document case studies and better enable future rollouts .
